Saw it...movie was poorly put together, seemed to rush through transition scenes, and almost goes too far out of their way to make religion sound like an extreme case of 'the worst!'

Also, the girl was almost TOO confident and brave the entire time, that I never really felt like she was in that much danger. I went through the movie every time she got in danger thinking "Eh, she'll work it out."

Had a hard time enjoying it, because of all the hoopla about it, that I spent much of the movie looking for their subtleties, that I couldn't really sit back and enjoy. Reminded me of when I saw 'Cinderella Man' with my ex, and she told me that her dad cried during it, then the entire movie during any scene deemed emotional she would say "I wonder if this is the part that my dad cried," which to that I'd tell her to be quiet, and in my head I'd think "I wonder if this IS the scene her dad cried..."

I do love little loyal animals, though.

You know, I really didn't have any desire to see "The Golden Compass" until church leaders started warning people not to see it.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh has issued a letter warning parish pastors about the subversive, atheistic themes in the new movie "The Golden Compass" and the book by the same name.

I'm all about subversion.
