I have to eat a lot of salt because my epilepsy meds have the side effect of lowering your salt levelsl. I think I am about the only person I have ever heard of who eats salt on her doctor's recommendation!

I've had to cut way back on salt because it makes my ankles bloat up to the size of grapefruit. One time when I went to the podiatrist, (who calls the swelling "edema" not big icky ankles like I do) I had some swelling and was then questioned about how much cheese and salt I ate. I would think that Easy Cheese is like the saltiest thing on the planet.

It's not bad once your taste buds get used to it, but I still get a raging craving for french fries now and again. :)

I have given up so many calories a day, I refuse to also give up salt. Salt is what makes it all worth doing. mmmm, salt.

But I don't drink much, so I'd rather give up booze than salt. Everyone has their preference.

In order to survive this diet, I'm definitely going to need some beer.
