just because it's really hard to ride a horse standing on your head and shoot an arrow with your feet doesn't mean that it's a sport.

Meh.

Now us Detroiters have to put up with Peter Karmanos parading the Cup in Detroit while loudly proclaiming that it doesn't belong to Mike Illitch or the Red Wings.

Plus, the reasons you state for loving the team are valid reasons to hate it. Grrr. (Well, except for the Yamaguchi-Hedican thing...can you imagine how well those kids are going to skate?)

Ah well, everyone loves a winner. If Carolina can actually sustain the popularity of the Canes over time through thick and thin, then I will stand down. I didn't see them maintain popularity after we beat them in 2002.

John-I actually rescinded my hatred for Chris Pronger over the last few weeks. But I now have it again.

e-I challenge you to a game! I think you will find that trying to ice skate, control a puck, avoid a hit, and shoot it even remotely close to where you want it to go is much, much harder than you think. Take it from someone who plays the game in rec leagues. You will burn more calories and use more muscles than you even thought you had. It's one of the greatest workouts you could ever have. There is a reason the professionals don't stay on the ice for longer than 45 second shifts.

e, e, e... shakes head. What to do with you? I ended up rooting for the Canes Ken. Two reasons: 1) you actually cared, and 2) I hate Chris Pronger so much I would spit.
