Hot Spot: April and George | Wednesday, 2003 October 8 - 9:38 pm |
Trendy, down-tempo, non-smoking, beautiful; this is what I want in my women, and this is what I want in a wine bar. April and George is a welcome respite from the meet-market Glenwood South scene. In contrast to its smoky and crowded neighbor Sullivan's, A&G is trendy without trying; if a stranger started talking to you, you might actually believe he's interested in the wine or the art, instead of just "scamming". The beautiful and knowledgeable staff, including the owners, are friendly and welcoming. The wine selection is always top-notch, if not as expansive as some places. Rumor has it A&G will be introducing tapas in addition to their small selection of cheeses and sandwiches soon. If that happens, I'll never have any reason to leave! Rating: 5/5 |
