Movies: Reviews in Brief
Sunday, 2007 October 14 - 9:08 pm
"Syriana"; "The Station Agent"; "Munich"; "300".

Syriana. The good: the premise is timely and compelling. The bad: the plot lines are muddy and a bit predictable, and to me, the movie fails to make much of a statement. The verdict: 3.0 / 5.

The Station Agent. The good: the characters, the visuals, and the dialogue are great. The bad: the story doesn't really go anywhere, and the ending feels rushed. The verdict: 3.5 / 5.

Munich. The good: it's a fascinating story, the movie is well put-together, and the acting is solid. The bad: mm, not much. The verdict: 4.0 / 5.

300. The good: a good story, an interesting stylized approach, and mesmerizing action sequences. The bad: a little too much creative license taken with history, and mediocre acting from some secondary characters. The verdict: 3.5 / 5.
