Today was a strange day. So first of all, I'm feeling much better today. Thanks to all who sent well-wishes. I woke up fairly early, and had breakfast with two cups of coffee from my fabulous coffee press. I was WIRED OUT OF MY MIND for most of the morning and early afternoon. I could feel arteries pulsing in the oddest of places. Hrm. I ended up not going to the wine tasting thing. No one was all that excited about going, and I didn't want to push my luck with my health, anyway. So despite the nice weather, I spent most of the day puttering around the house. Oh, I watched my DVD of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", which is now at the top of my list for Favorite Movie Ever. I did manage to do a bit of organizing. I finally found the capo for my guitar... it's been missing for months. To celebrate, I picked up the guitar and played "Closer to Fine" three times in a row. (Capo second fret.) In the early evening, the caffeine wore off and I totally crashed for a few hours. Crouching Hamster, I was asleep when you called... I wasn't out doing anything fun. When I woke up, I checked my e-mail, and one of my accounts had three hundred messages in it. Apparently, some spammer had used my e-mail address in the "from" field for some junk mail, so I ended up getting all the bounce-back replies. Argh. It's the account I normally use for e-commerce transanctions: "gomi at nc dot rr dot com". (Gomi means "trash" in Japanese.) If you get an e-mail from that address, ignore it. I spent an hour or so changing my registered e-mail address at about forty different web sites. I had a late dinner, and then I went back off the wagon after a week of teetotalitarianism. (I'm pretty sure that's not a word, but it ought to be.) On tap for tomorrow: car washing, running, hitting golf balls at the driving range, or yard work. We'll see which activity wins out. |
