Today's Frozen Meal: Lean Cuisine Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto Chicken
Friday, 2010 February 19 - 1:03 pm
"With cavatappi pasta, zucchini, black olives & parmesan cheese". Cavatappi sounds exotic, but it's basically macaroni.

Box

Meal

It seems like there ought to be a ban on the word "pesto" unless there's actually pesto in the meal.

Taste: I didn't expect to be able to taste the sun-dried tomato, but I can. And I figured the zucchini would be squishy, but it's not. So there are a couple of pleasant surprises there. But otherwise there's not much there; it's basically macaroni with tomato sauce. I can't taste the olives at all, and there's nothing distinctive about the chicken. The portion size is a bit unsatisfying. Score: 2.5/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: Slightly high in fat, especially for a small meal, and not much in the way of vitamins. Score: 2.0/3.0

Packaging: Required stirring after three minutes. Score: 1.5/2.0

Total Score: 6.0/10.0

By the way: I've started to use a more scientific scoring system for nutrition. I went back through all the older entries and tweaked some scores based on the new scale.
