Yesterday's Frozen Meal: Healthy Choice Sweet and Sour Chicken
Thursday, 2010 February 25 - 10:45 am
I spent most of lunchtime at the DMV yesterday, so I'm late posting this review. "Chicken Breast Chunks in Sweet & Sour Sauce, Whole Grain Rice, Broccoli & Peach Multigrain Crisp." Mmm, breast chunks.

Box

Meal

I got this because Kashi also makes a sweet and sour chicken dish, and I wanted to do a direct comparison.

Taste: You know, it's actually passable as sweet and sour chicken. It's like something you'd get from Chinese takeout, if you froze and reheated the leftovers. I wouldn't qualify this as high cuisine, but the sauce is tangy and flavorful and tastes pretty much like what you'd get in a typical Chinese fast food restaurant. Of course the vegetable and dessert are just typical frozen dinner staples: steamed broccoli and random-fruit "crisp". Score: 3.0/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: 10 grams of fat, but otherwise fine. Score: 2.5/3.0

Packaging: I have to cut the film, but there's no stirring required. Score: 1.5/2.0

Total Score: 7.0/10.0
