July 30 Frozen Meal: Tai Pei Bourbon Street Chicken | Wednesday, 2010 September 8 - 10:39 am
"Breaded chicken white meat and vegetables in bourbon flavored sauce with steamed rice". Ah yes, the famous Bourbon Street... in Tai Pei.![]() ![]() So yeah, I'm waaaaay behind on these posts. I went away on vacation for a bit (hence the Hawaii pictures)... and then I built up such a backlog of posts that I didn't even want to start working through it. But I'll give it a try. Taste: What an odd dish. It's supposed to be bourbon-flavored, but it's not, unless bourbon is made from soy sauce. The dish amounts to chicken nuggets and a mish-mash of bland vegetables; nothing blends very well. The sauce is sweet and goopy. It's not enjoyable. Score: 1.5/5.0 ![]() Nutrition: Time to do the math... 397 grams of food, 170 grams per serving, so we multiply everything by 2.335: Similar to the "General Tso's Chicken" meal; oddly high in Vitamin A and C. Score: 2.5/3.0 Packaging: Just throw the whole box in the microwave. Score: 2.0/2.0 Total Score: 6.0/10.0
