October 22 Frozen Meal: Healthy Choice Rosemary Chicken and Sweet Potatoes | Monday, 2010 November 22 - 3:31 pm |
"Chicken tenderloins with sweet potatoes, yellow carrots & pearl onions in rosemary garlic sauce." I can see why they went with the yellow carrots: otherwise, the dish would be all orange. It still looks like it needs something green in it. And the box seems to imply roasted, caramelized meat and vegetables; the actual food is just steamed. Taste: Most of what I can taste is the cornstarch-thickened sauce: butter, a bit of garlic, and rosemary. It's underseasoned and bland. The yellow carrots are cooked all right but they don't taste like much, and the sweet potatoes aren't very sweet. The pearl onions are all right. It's a pretty simple dish; not terrible, but in need of something to kick it up. Score: 2.5/5.0 Nutrition: Just 170 calories, and 100% of the Vitamin A allowance. Score: 3.0/3.0 Packaging: Just put the container in the microwave. Score: 2.0/2.0 Total Score: 7.5/10.0 |
