College Football 2013: Week 12 Preview
Saturday, 2013 November 16 - 12:09 pm
I am having trouble getting enthused for these games.

Michigan at Northwestern
There is only one story here, and that's whether Michigan will fix anything about their broken offense. Will the offensive line improve? Will Al Borges change the play calling? That's all I really want to see. I'll still cheer, I'll still root for the victory, but mainly I just want to see some progress on offense.

Prediction: Michigan 16, Northwestern 21.

N.C. State at Boston College
I have a similar level of ennui here. B.C. is a middle-of-the-road ACC team and has played well recently. That is much more than N.C. State can say. State certainly has the ability to win here, but they'd have to avoid the mistakes that doomed them against Duke. B.C. is far from being an offensive powerhouse, but their defense will give State some trouble.

Prediction: N.C. State 17, Boston College 24.

Games to Watch on TV
At noon, Indiana plays #22 Wisconsin on ESPN2. This will give Wisconsin a chance to prove themselves; I still think they're vastly underrated. At 12:30 the N.C. State game is on Fox Sports Carolina, or online on ESPN3.

At 3:30 the Michigan-Northwestern game is on BTN, but there are a variety of other games to keep an eye on. #16 Michigan State plays Nebraska on ESPN; that may as well be the Big Ten semifinal game. #25 Georgia plays #7 Auburn on CBS. #12 Oklahoma State plays #24 Texas on Fox. It's surprising to see that Texas has clawed back into the rankings. #23 Miami plays at Duke on ESPNU, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Duke pull off the upset.

At 7:00 Florida plays #10 South Carolina, as coach Spurrier takes on his old school on ESPN2. At 7:45 Alabama plays Mississippi State on ESPN; in other years that might have been a more interesting game, but this year the Bulldogs are struggling. Your Game of the Week is #4 Stanford playing at USC on ABC... Stanford still has an outside chance at a BCS title game but USC is resurgent and is coming off three impressive wins.
