Kim's Birthday, Followup
Thursday, 2005 June 30 - 10:00 pm
How it all panned out.

The birthday celebrations for co-worker Kim went very well. She liked the decorations, a zillion people told her "happy birthday", and there was much love all around.

We took her out to lunch at Tripp's: five of us guys, and Kim. (Given the demographics of our company, that wasn't too much of a surprise.) One of the managers sneakily ordered a margarita for her even though she had a financial audit scheduled for the afternoon. HA HA, so funny! Of course, I couldn't let her feel guilty about drinking by herself, so I ordered one too. Yeah, THAT'S what the reason was.

At one point, we talked about getting her a second margarita, to make her audit go EVEN BETTER, but she said, "After just ONE of these things, I'll be dancing on the table. After two of them, I'd be naked." Immediately, five hands went up to flag the waitress. This is why Kim is so fun to be around: she's always good for at least one sexually suggestive comment, no matter what the situation. Keep in mind, she's our HR director. That is one good thing about our company, by the way: all of our HR folks have always been really cool.

In the end, she didn't end up getting the second drink, and no one got naked. Oh well, maybe next time.
