Preparations
Wednesday, 2005 July 27 - 11:58 pm
Am I ready for this weekend? You betcha.

Only two days to BlogHer.

I've already figured out what I'm going to wear. My lovely lovely friend Anna made me calling cards to hand out. I'm taking tomorrow off work so I can get a haircut, a pedicure, and some manscaping. I am SO READY FOR THIS.

I was thinking about trying to promote the saying, "What happens at BlogHer stays at BlogHer". But it's a blogger's convention, so it might be more appropriate to say, "What happens at BlogHer will immediately get broadcast to the Internets". Aieee. This will be something to keep in mind, surely.

I'm starting to think of BlogHer as a kind of test. Will I be bold and clever? In a venue with over two hundred women, will I still be able to retain my masculinity? Will I be able to fend off all the women who will be grabbing my ass in order to score a free drink?

Actually, if any woman grabbed my ass during this thing, I'd probably be so grateful that she would drown in all the free beer I'd give her. Especially if she were once a leggy supermodel, or if she were a blogosphere superstar.

At least, on the way there and back, I finally have a credible and interesting story to tell my fellow airline passengers. If they ask me about myself, I'll say, "I'm a writer." Yeah, that's the ticket.
