Day Off
Sunday, 2005 October 30 - 2:44 pm
Didja miss me?

Yesterday I took a day off.

It's a non-Amy week, so I couldn't see her. There were a bazillion things I could have done, but I decided I needed just one day where I didn't feel the weight of any obligations. So I didn't clean the house, I didn't mow the lawn, I didn't get a haircut, I didn't go out shopping. I didn't even blog. Instead, I stayed in, watched football, and ate cheese.

Lots and lots of cheese.

I also ate up all the leftovers I'd accumulated over the course of the week. It turned out to be fortunate that I didn't decide to go out, because those leftovers did a number on my digestive system. Note to self: eating leftovers that are a week old can be trouble. Especially if said leftovers came from the North Carolina State Fair. And the cheese? NOT HELPFUL.

But in all it was a pretty good day. Michigan won solidly over a highly-touted Northwestern team. I'd frankly gotten a bit tired of all the hype about Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez, and the fancy-pants Northwestern spread offense. So it was nice to see Michigan win with good old defense, special teams, and time-of-possession. If Michigan could play like this every week (but with maybe a little more accuracy from Chad Henne), I'd be a happy Wolverine.

Today I'm doing a little bit of cleaning, and I'm gonna get a haircut. I'm also getting ready to upgrade my primary computer to Mac OS X 10.4 Panther, a somewhat scary proposition. It's not that I've really ever had any upgrade trouble in the past, but this computer handles all my email and all my blogging. It's a very large part of my life. Yeah, I made backups and all, but there's just a teeny part of me that worries that I'm gonna lose everything, and THAT WOULD BE LIKE DYING. That's how much I'm entwined with technology.

If all goes well, I'll post again tonight. Wish me luck.

What are you going to do about Amy next weekend? that will be two weekends in a row. I assume that you are not going to be blogging much Monday-Wednesday.
