Oh, The Injustice! | Thursday, 2005 August 25 - 11:58 pm |
This is why I won't be moving to Singapore. A U.S. citizen was arrested when he moved to Singapore and brought 58 pornographic DVDs and VCDs with him. According to Reuters, some of the titles included "Frivolous Lola", "Copulation Nation", and "Lord of the Strings". That last one might be better known to certain Cinemax-watching members of my audience as "Lord of the G-Strings". Singapore is notorious for its tough social laws, including bans against "carnal intercourse against the order of nature". The man, Cisco employee Tran Nghia Hong, was released after presenting a statement from his brother that he was "missing certain DVDs". So to sum up this story: - You can get arrested in Singapore for owning porn. - You can get out of it if you say "Oh, that's not mine." - If you need to liven up your bachelor party, call some Cisco guys. |
