Melissa (of Suburban Bliss) writes SUCH good stuff. If you haven't clicked over to Suburban Bliss* yet, you should; you're in for a treat. It's a "Mommy Blog" but more than that; it's also full of stories about drinking and poo, so I CAN'T HELP BUT READ IT EVERY DAY. Lately, the author Melissa has been looking for a job. As those of you who've been out in the job market know, it's a tough world out there. (Hey, Bush, thanks for giving all those tax breaks to the rich. That trickle-down thing is, uh, really working for us.) So I feel for her. And then you read about her sewer problems and her adorable kids and her iBook, and you can't help but love this girl. Lacking the ability to help in any sort of meaningful way (like, for instance, finding her a job), I bought an AdBrite text ad on her site. For those of you clicking over here from Suburban Bliss, welcome... and maybe you might consider doing the same thing? I feel a real sense of community with other people who write blogs. I mean, some of you are actually IRL friends, but there are a bunch of you whom I've never met. But you still seem like family to me. So I think we should help each other when we can. Melissa, best of luck to you. *Don't go to suburbanbliss.net. Someone else bought the domain and Melissa no longer writes there. |
