Today's odd lawsuits from around the country. A doctor has been sued for convincing a woman that he could fix her back pain by having sex with her. Randall Smith, a 50-year-old doctor in Oregon, charged the state's health plan $5,000 for a series of 45-minute "treatments". The 47-year-old woman is suing for $4 million. Um, say lady, were you not just a LITTLE bit suspicious when he proposed this particular remedy? Weren't there any red-flags going up in your head? "Yes, I can fix your lower back pain by having sex with you. To fix your leg pain, I'll need to do it in the ass. Oh, and as a bonus, I've got a treatment for your tonsillitis as well. No charge for that one." The RIAA has been sued for coercion, extortion, and fraud, for trying to go after a woman as an illegal music downloader. Coincidentally, this woman is also in Oregon, though I guess she's getting fucked in a different way than Miss Back Pain there. Finally, a Decatur woman is suing because she was fired after a co-worker displayed nude photos of her at their workplace, and she complained about it. She was apparently romantically involved with that co-worker, but says she did not consent to have the photos taken. I think this just reinforces that number one rule of business, which is DON'T LET CO-WORKERS SEE YOU NAKED. Especially when they've got their cell-phone cameras handy. |
