American Idol, Week 1: Predictions
Thursday, 2007 February 22 - 9:11 am
Looks will play a big part in the voting results.

As we all know by now, talent is not the sole determining factor in who gets voted out of Idol. It's a part, but it's also "which contestants are least liked by 12-year-old girls and their mothers", the target demographic of the show.

So considering that, here are my predictions for this week.

Guys: Blake will be absolutely safe. Sanjaya will survive on his looks. Everyone else is at risk. Paul and Jared are probably out.

Women: Lakisha should be safe. Jordin should be safe. Everyone else is at risk, partly because the cute white girls will get votes even though they performed poorly. Leslie and Amy may be out.
