The California Circus
Monday, 2003 October 6 - 9:18 pm
One night until the California recall election; do residents there feel like Linda Hamilton at the end of the original "Terminator" movie, grimly awaiting a hopeless future?

It's starting to seem likely that Ahnult is going to get the nod as the next California governor. Frankly, I'm shocked that so many people would actually believe that a bodybuilder with no economic or political background would be qualified to save California from its fiscal crisis. Repeal the vehicle fee increase? Ooooh. Yeah, that'll fix things.

Forget anything about the allegations about his past sexual misconduct... his supporters are right in seeing that as last-minute mudslinging. No, you should actually avoid voting for him based on plain ol' common sense: if you have any intelligence at all, you'll understand that movie one-liners may sell box office tickets but they don't make one fit to govern the fifth largest economy in the world.

Oh, but wait, I forgot... people are morons. Well, California, if you elect Ahnult, you'll get what you deserve.
