Television: American Idol Finale
Thursday, 2004 May 27 - 9:29 pm
I hate to say it, but I told you so. Actually, no, I like to say it.

As expected, and as it should be, Fantasia Barrino won this season's "American Idol" competition. (I did predict this over a month ago, as my regular readers know. Ah, who am I kidding; I have no regular readers.) Reportedly, the vote difference was 1.3 million, out of 65 million votes cast; a mere 2% margin for Fantasia. That's surprisingly close, actually. I have to give credit to cute little Diana DeGarmo, though; she did sing up a storm on two of the three songs in the final showdown. I'm sure we'll see her around, in some teen comedy movie or something. For that matter, I'm sure we'll see more of Jasmine Trias too.

As for Fantasia, I hope she keeps her head straight, and makes the most of her opportunity. Right now she's America's darling, but I'm sure there are those out there that would love to knock her down. Good luck, Bobo.
