Republican National Convention Part II
Wednesday, 2008 September 3 - 9:58 pm
Okay... did they really start a "drill, baby, drill" chant during Giuliani's speech? Really? Really?

And is Giuliani still making the case that the Iraq war was a good thing?

And does Giuliani really want to make flip-flopping a campaign issue, when McCain has flip-flopped on abortion and Palin has flip-flopped on earmarks?

Giuliani is the worst of the worst of demagogues. The real blessing in this election is that he did not win the nomination and thus has no chance of becoming the second worst president ever.

But of course, what everyone wants tonight is to hear what Sarah Palin has to say in front of a national audience. And... she's really playing up the "I'm a small-town hockey mom" thing, isn't she?

There are people who will eat this sort of thing up. But there will be others that find her condescending, like the PTA mom who tells everyone else what's good for them.

Give her credit: she's a charismatic speaker and she delivers the party line well. But her speech is short on substance, and it rings a bit hollow to hear her criticize Obama for being an inexperienced celebrity politician. I'm curious to see how she'll fare in a debate.

The difference between a pit bull and a soccer mom is lipstick? I'm sorry, I don't get it.
