No Frozen Meal Today (Free Pizza Day)
Thursday, 2010 January 7 - 1:55 pm
Ok, so we had a "lunch and learn" meeting today, and they always provide Papa John's pizza for us for free. So...

Pizza

I actually ate three pieces of pizza (two of the veggie, one of the pepperoni). I should have stopped at two, but you know, free.

Just for kicks, I looked up the nutritional info for my lunch today. Here's what it comes to:
calories: 820
calories from fat: 300
fat:33 g
saturated fat:14 g
cholesterol:70 mg
sodium:2060 mg
carbohydrates:98 g
fiber:5 g
sugar:12 g
protein:32 g
vitamin A:20%
vitamin C:36%
calcium:45%
iron:32%

That would rate a 0 out of 3 in nutrition (2060 mg of sodium! Ack!) on my scale. Good thing I don't eat like this every day... any more.

By the way, I just read this today also: Study: Calorie counts off at chains, frozen meals. Apparently a study determined that restaurants and frozen meal makers are under-counting their calories. Restaurants are off by an average of 18%, frozen meals (including Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine) are off by an average of 8%. Great.
