Today's Frozen Meal: Healthy Choice Salisbury Steak
Tuesday, 2010 March 9 - 2:48 pm
"Salisbury Steak in Sautéed Onion Gravy, Green Beans, Red Skin Potatoes & Caramel Apple Multigrain Crisp".

Box

Meal

I'd intended to finish my three-part mini-pizza showdown today, but I'm working from home today and I left the pizza in the work freezer. So instead, we have this salisbury steak meal. I wanted to go old school and get a classic TV dinner. I would have tried the Hungry Man version, but the fat and sodium numbers were ridiculous on it.

Taste: It's pretty much what you'd expect. The salisbury steak is a processed blend of beef, pork, and soy. The potatoes are a bit mushy and the green beans are typically bland. But you know, it's not awful. There's a fair amount of flavor in the gravy, and the meal on the whole is edible. Score: 2.5/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: It must get all that fiber from soy. Whatever; the numbers here are pretty good. Score: 3.0/3.0

Packaging: I have to peel the film and turn the steak halfway through cooking. Score: 1.0/2.0

Total Score: 6.5/10.0
