August 30 Frozen Meal: Lean Cuisine Shanghai-Style Shrimp | Monday, 2010 October 4 - 12:37 pm |
"Shrimp with udon noodles, snap peas, red bell peppers and carrots in a sweet and spicy asian sauce." I'm not sure what part of this qualifies as "Shanghai-Style"; I guess the assumption is that most consumers won't know what that means anyway. Similar to the Lean Cuisine Sweet and Spicy Ginger Chicken from before. Taste: It's moderately spicy, and reasonably flavorful. The udon noodles are short and difficult to pick up, but they have good texture. As is typical for frozen meals, the shrimp are overcooked to the point of being rubbery. The snap peas are pretty good; the other vegetables are cooked well but don't have much flavor. Score: 2.5/5.0 Nutrition: 100% of the RDA for Vitamin A. Just over the edge when it comes to sodium. Score: 2.5/3.0 Packaging: You just microwave the whole bag, and dump the contents onto a plate at the end. Score: 2.0/2.0 Total Score: 7.0/10.0 |
