November 22 Frozen Meal: Kashi Chicken Pasta Pomodoro | Tuesday, 2010 November 23 - 11:43 am |
"Grilled Chicken Breast with Red Peppers, Yellow Summer Squash & Zucchini; Kashi 7 Whole Grain Penne Pasta; Tomato Garlic & Basil Sauce". I thought I had tried all the Kashi meals before, but I found a few new ones. And yes, it's been a few weeks since I've had a frozen meal... I've been distracted by things like the new burger truck that's come to Raleigh. Taste: It's generally pretty tasty, though every now and then I'll get a bite with a weird bitter flavor. That seems to be pretty typical for Kashi. I'm not sure where it comes from. The sauce is a bit thin. The dish has nice big chunks of chicken and the pasta is decently cooked. But there seems to be only one piece of zucchini, one mushroom, one piece of green pepper, and no yellow squash to speak of. Maybe there are hidden vegetables mashed up into the sauce? Score: 2.5/5.0 Nutrition: Decent numbers; a little light on vitamins. Score: 2.5/3.0 Packaging: You have to peel the film and stir midway, but Kashi gets its usual bonus points for using recycled packaging. Score: 2.0/2.0 Total Score: 7.0/10.0 |
