College Football 2022: Week 10 Recap and Week 11 Preview
Friday, 2022 November 11 - 5:00 pm
Abbreviated post this week, sorry. Michigan and Penn State win handily; NC State wins a surprise.

Michigan 52, Rutgers 17
Michigan actually trailed this game 17-14 at the half, thanks largely to a punt block. But the defense clamped down in the second half and Michigan came away with the easy win.

Michigan vs Nebraska, 3:30 PM ABC
Nebraska is trying to find its way after firing its head coach Scott Frost. They've clawed their way to a 3-6 record on a passable offense and a horrific defense; but they've got QB injury issues and will likely start Chubba Purdy, who is a decent runner but a lousy passer. So all signs point to a massacre. Michigan will likely lean on their usual run-heavy offense, and Nebraska will be unlikely to stop it.

Prediction: Michigan 42, Nebraska 9.

Penn State 45, Indiana 14
Penn State dominated this game as expected, outgaining Indiana 483-196.

Penn State vs Maryland, 3:30 PM Fox
Maryland is statistically only slightly worse then Penn State, but they have no impressive wins and are coming off a loss to a not-great Wisconsin team. Their offense hinges on the performance of QB Taulia Tagovaiola, who has been hit or miss. I think the Penn State defense will carry the day.

Prediction: Penn State 31, Maryland 13.

NC State 30, Wake Forest 21
This was a pleasant surprise. NC State snagged three interceptions, which was enough to offset Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman's 398 yards passing. Meanwhile State has found themselves a serviceable quarterback in MJ Morris, who was 18-28 for 210 yards. At 7-2 now with some winnable games left, State looks like it will salvage a good season despite Devin Leary's injury.

NC State vs Boston College, 3:30 PM ACCN
Boston College is very bad. They've lost to hapless UConn and Rutgers on their way to a 2-7 record. Sometimes BC seems to have NC State's number, but I don't think so this time.

Prediction: NC State 38, Boston College 13.

Notable Results
#3 Georgia took down #1 Tennessee 27-13. #2 Ohio State slogged their way through a thunderstorm to get by Northwestern 21-7; the notable thing is how much trouble they had doing it. #4 Clemson got waxed by Notre Dame 35-14. #10 LSU beat #6 Alabama 32-31 on a two-point conversion gamble in OT. #24 Texas upset #13 Kansas State 34-27. Michigan State upset #16 Illinois 23-25. Kansas beat #18 Oklahoma State 37-16. Pitt beat #20 Syracuse 19-9. Iowa crunched Purdue 24-3. Wisconsin beat Maryland 23-10.

Games to Watch on TV
At noon, there are no games between two ranked teams. Perhaps of some interest will be #2 Ohio State vs Indiana on Fox, or Purdue vs #21 Illinois on ESPN2.

At 3:30, all of our teams play; Michigan vs. Nebraska is on ABC, Penn State vs. Maryland is on Fox, and NC State vs Boston College is on ACCN. You've also got #9 Alabama vs #11 Ole Miss on CBS, #22 UCF at #17 Tulane on ESPN2, and Wisconsin at Iowa on FS1.

At 7:00, #1 Georgia plays Mississippi State on ESPN. #25 Washington is at #6 Oregon on Fox. At 7:30, #4 TCU plays #18 Texas on ABC. #15 UNC plays Wake Forest on ESPN2. At 8:00, #23 FSU plays Syracuse on ACCN.
