Beware the monkey.

No, we weren't really all that drunk. But over the weekend, Amy and I each got this:

Yes, it's a tattoo. Yes, it's a little monkey. Yes, it's silly. We love it.

Maybe it wasn't exactly a wise thing to do, but it sure was fun. Will we regret this someday? Mmm, maybe, though it's hard to imagine that a little monkey like this would be cause for concern. I mean, it's not like we got each others' names tattooed... we knew that would be the kiss of death for our relationship.

I'm not exactly sure what Mom and Dad will have to say when they see this. IF they see this. But otherwise I don't know of anyone who would disapprove. I don't think.

The place we went to get the tattoo is called "No Regrets", on Hillsborough street in Raleigh. Hopefully they'll live up to that moniker.

Somehow Amy is able to get her tattoo to do this (QuickTime required):

Well, like I always say, if you're going to get a tattoo, it better be with or of a monkey. Yours are particularly cute.

Cool tattoos!

But is that his tail, or his -- oh, never mind.

Amy's monkey rocks.

Hey, and you remember how on Happy Days, Mrs. C. would sometimes ask, "Howard, are you getting frisky?"

You and Amy can say, "Hey, can I touch your monkey?" And only us blog readers will know ;-)

Okay, MINE is on my left upper arm. Amy's is, uh, elsewhere.

My best friend and I have matching birds. We have had them 15 years. I don't regret having it. Though, when we got them I felt like it set me apart, now I show up at a water park and everyone has tattoos.
