Sick Again
Monday, 2006 May 8 - 6:22 pm
No, really.

According to the fancy thermometer I got at the Food Lion, my normal body temperature is about 97.1°F. When I took my temperature Saturday evening, it was 100.7°F. It reached 101°F this morning, but now seems to be tapering off. So in short, I'm sick AGAIN, and it's not the fake-trying-to-get-out-of-work sick... I'm REALLY sick this time.

(For all you people from work reading this: that was just a joke. I would NEVER fake being sick to get away from my wonderful, fascinating, entertaining job.)

When I was sick as a kid (which was often), Mom would let me drink all the pop (er, soda) I wanted, and she'd play Connect Four with me until we had exhausted all possible the permutations of possible moves. I watched a lot of "The Price Is Right" on TV. And I would eat soup and get wrapped up in blankets until I sweated out every last bit of whatever virus had infected me.

Amy is here taking care of me now, and you know what? It's a lot like having Mom around. Except with Amy I have to keep insisting that I'm not well enough to start drinking vodka tonics again.

Any Vernors to be found? That's really the only cure.
