Royale With Cheese
Monday, 2004 November 29 - 12:13 am
Just minutes after I left the movie theater at the Southpoint mall, there was a shooting. And I missed it!

Is it strange to want to be around for a shooting?

It's not that I want to be shot. And I really don't need to see someone's brains splattered over the back seat of a car. But sometimes I do feel like my life is lacking excitement. What would have happened if I had been around? If I had been a witness? I might be giving a police statement right now. And maybe I'd eventually go to court and testify. Or maybe I'd work out a secret deal with the defendant and pretend I didn't really see anything.

In any case, it'd make for a pretty good story.

Whenever I go to the dentist, she invariably asks me what I've been doing for the last six months. And most of the time, there isn't much to tell. But if there were any shooting involved, you can bet everyone would be engrossed by the story, including the attractive hygienist who tortures me by poking my gums with a metal pick. (That's about the extent of the violence I encounter in life.) Maybe I should just start making up stories about being involved in shootings. If I say it happened in Durham, people would find it believable.

Or maybe I just need to get out more.

noodles - in a striking moment of serendipity, i went to the comic book store on the day after you posted this and saw a freind of mine talking to a friend of his - and it turned out that the friend of my freind was none other than phil lamarr, that's right - marvin - of "i just shot marvin in the face" fame! (he's also the voice of green lantern of the justice league cartoon, which may even be cooler). which leads me to the greater question - could you please write something with some tangential relation to christy turlington?

just wondering.
