A few fun links. First, here's something awesome that came via email from Anna. You may have seen this before, but it's worth passing on. It's the 10 worst album covers of all time. Enjoy. Something I've gotta try at some point: cooking an egg with mobile phones.(link via Dave Barry and Mimi Smartypants). I'm curious if it really works. (It still wouldn't prove anything about cell phones causing cancer, though. Or about aspartame causing lupus.) Something I need for work: the Napmosphere (via Gizmodo, among other places). Also useful while hiking, going on long shopping outings, and escaping bad dates (which, of course, I don't have any more). Yesterday's Most Obvious Joke: Republicans get a Boehner. (Aww, crap, it's actually pronounced "BAY-nor." Or so he says.) |

We have a local politician here in Pittsburgh who's last name is Niger - he pronounces it "Nie-gear", so he can get elected and not shot. |

I once knew a guy who had his own "napmosphere" at work. It was a series of carboard boxes that he had taped together and removed the connecting sides. It was under a table in the corner of his office, and from the outside it looked like nothing more than storage for old books and files. He even had labels on the boxes to complete the illusion. Inside, however, it had a pillow, a blanket, and a thick foam pad to serve as a mattress. I could never decide if the guy was an idiot or a genius. |
