So much noise, so little getting done. Saturday, President Bush attempted to quell an uprising by Congressional Republicans who sponsored a resolution calling for an exit strategy from Iraq. On his weekly radio address, he said, "The mission isn't easy, and it will not be accomplished overnight." Wait: I thought the mission was already "accomplished". Isn't that what that big banner on the aircraft carrier said? TWO YEARS AGO? CIA Director Porter Goss claims he has an "excellent" idea where Osama Bin Laden is holed up, according to an article in Time Magazine. But Goss says we have to do some things before we go ahead and bring him in for justice. He was a little vague on what those things actually were, but if I had to guess: - Wait for another major terror attack, just to make sure 9/11 wasn't a fluke - Charge up the batteries that will be attached to Osama's testicles in Abu Ghraib - Find a way for the next Republican presidential candidate to take credit for his capture Jeb Bush wants an investigation on the circumstances that caused Terri Schiavo's initial collapse, fifteen years ago. The world collectively sighed and said, "Would you PLEASE just give it a rest?" On the other hand, it might be fun to watch Jeb spiral down the road of political suicide. Anyway, we all know that Michael Jackson caused Terri's death. Or O.J. Simpson. Or Kobe Bryant. Right? |
