Liberty Fights Back | Thursday, 2005 August 4 - 10:45 pm |
It's good to know people aren't just taking things lying down. The New York Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit against the City of New York and police commissioner Raymond Kelly. The lawsuit alleges that the random subway searches that are being conducted are unconstitutional. Damn skippy. Maybe they read my blog about it. Or if they haven't, maybe I could send it in as an amicus curiae brief. I don't know if I have that much more to say about this topic right now, other than the fact that I'll be watching this case very closely. Stay tuned. |

I haven't seen anyone get searched yet. I do know that if I'm ever carrying a bomb in my backpack and someone wants to search me before I enter the subway, I'll just walk to the next stop and get on. |

I somehow think you're less likely to get searched in your part of town. It's not like there's a bunch of rich white guys to protect there. |
