A Gloriously Useless Weekend
Monday, 2005 September 5 - 10:15 pm
The staff here at the Real Kato Online sure loves football.

I did nothing useful this weekend. It was great.

Okay, so I did wash the cars. The weather was so nice, I had to get outside for a bit. The car washing would have been rather enjoyable, actually, had it not been for the fact that I had to keep walking through my pampas grass bush to get around the car. As I've mentioned before, the leaves are like razor wire. I ended up with a bunch of gashes across my legs, as if I'd been flayed with cat-o-nine tails.

I watched a whole bunch of football. Thank GOD college football is back. Michigan's run defense looked a leaky New Orleans levee... but boy, the offense looked pretty darn good. Notre Dame is up next week; hopefully Michigan will have its defensive problems fixed in time for that.

North Carolina State played pretty well, but lost to Virginia Tech, thanks mostly to some costly penalties late in the game.

Even though it's not Amy Week this week, she was able to sneak over to my house for a little while. I mentioned to her that it felt like we were teenagers, like she'd told her mom she was going to a friend's house to "study". Hee hee. We even drank a little booze. (Imagine that.) I then noted just how good my life was: I had football, vodka, and a pretty girl, all at the same time. What more could a guy want?

Sometimes it's the simple things that bring you the most pleasure.

Dude...our defense downright sucks! 411 yards given up. It looks no different from last year when mobile QBs had their way with us. They had better get the defense fixed in a hurry, or we'll be finding ourselves in shootouts this whole year.

I do NOT want to lose to Notre Dame. Grrrr.

On the cool side, going to the first game of the year always rocks. I love seeing the campus alive again. Walking down State St to get to the stadium is always so fun, looking at all the parties in front of the frats.

That's an excellent weekend! :)

CORRECTION:
This should read "I had football, vodka, and a pretty NAKED girl, all at the same time".

I like this girl more and more. Lloyd originally said on Saturday that he thought the defense played well, and that he saw some things to improve on, and that high scoring games were the way college football was nowadays. Then he watched the tape on Sunday, and at the Monday news conference he was a little pissed that his boys played so badly on defense.
I went to the first half of the game, stayed just long enough to see the band march out. It was glorious. NO-truh Dom looks pretty good. we shall see
