I'm Not Dead

... yet.

Hi folks. I know I've been absent from this blog for a while. Thanks to those of you asked if I'd died.

I got back late Sunday night from Las Vegas, and yesterday I was too tired to do much of anything... though I still had to go to work because, like a dumbass, I called a meeting at 10:30 am. I think courtesy demands that if you call a meeting at work, you should actually show up for it.

Today I'm taking the day off because I'm getting a new back door installed (because of the incident a few months ago). When I mentioned that at my meeting yesterday, a co-worker remarked, "Sounds painful". But so far it hasn't hurt very much. The two installer guys are actually here right now, as I'm writing this entry... I hear hammers and drills and tape measures, and occasional mutterings like "looks like that nail went through" and "careful with that hammer". There has only been one alarming crashing noise so far.

The guys seem pretty nice. One guy is a short Vietnamese guy, perhaps around 5'0". The other guy is a tall white guy, around 6'6". The white guy is the father-in-law of the Vietnamese guy. I'm curious about the dynamic about working for your father-in-law... that's got to be a little weird sometimes.

Anyway, I don't think these guys are the kill-you-and-rob-your-house type, though I'm keeping an eye on them just in case. But if you see a headline that says "North Carolina man bludgeoned with hammer", please check up on me.

I've got some Las Vegas stories and photos to post (nothing incriminating, don't worry guys), but that'll take me a little while to put together. Check back a little later.
