Fall Television
Tuesday, 2005 September 13 - 8:22 am
Vestiges of single life. Will I have time for all this?

Well, the fall TV season is almost upon us, and the dilemma for me is, how am I going to watch all my shows while still keeping The Girlfriend happy? Hopefully she'll be watching some of the same things.

Shows that I'm planning to watch:

Boston Legal. Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m on ABC. James Spader and William Shatner are back, thank goodness, but a lot of the rest of the cast has been shaken up.

Grey's Anatomy. Sundays at 10:00 p.m on ABC. It was a good first season; as long as they don't nosedive into sappy melodrama or "E.R."-like sensationalism, this show has got a lot of potential.

Lost. Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m on ABC. Of course. How can you NOT watch this show?

Alias. Thursdays at 8:00 p.m on ABC. The show started to redeem itself at the end of the last season, after a weird start.

E.R. Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. on NBC. Yeah, I gotta see how it all ends.

The Simpsons. Sundays at 8:00 p.m. on FOX. Still going.

Family Guy. Sundays at 9:00 p.m. on FOX. Inconsistent, but every now and then there's a really funny bit.

Head Cases. Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. on FOX. A comedy/drama about lawyers; it looks funny and the lead actors (Chris O'Donnell, Adam Goldberg) are strong. Gonna have to record this one, though, since it's up against "Lost".

And of course, there's football to watch too. Fortunately Amy is a football fan.

Note that my lineup has become very ABC-heavy. Is it just me, or are all the other networks just completely clueless these days? It used to be that NBC could do no wrong. Now, it seems like they can't come up with a single original idea.

a lot of the networks are kind of clueless. UPN actually surprised me with their treatment of Veronica Mars though. Great show and they recognize it and are not only giving it a chance, but advertising it.

I'm surprised Javi doens't have you watching Battlestar though :))

Veronica Mars is all things good. I just need to get me some fancy American cable so I can watch it.

What? You're not watching Battlestar?!?!?

Please tell me Candice Bergen is still on Boston Legal. Her and Shatner have awesome chemistry.

I watch a LOT of TV and the only shows that I will watch religiously are Survivor, Family Guy and the Simspsons. The Amazing Race, too, but this season it's a "family edition" which I'm not sure I'm gonna dig.

Somehow I am the only person on Earth who does not watch Alias and Lost. Even my mom takes the phone off the hook on Wednesday night.

Get a DVR or Tivo. We just did and I have not watched a minute of live TV since.

I love Adam Goldberg and I have a soft spot for lawyers. Time to set the VCR.

Shoot - I already missed Boston Legal.

What about reruns of "That 70s Show?"
