Dating Non-Update

Argh.

So nothing's really happening on the dating front. There were a couple of girls checking me out at Humble Pie last night. Or is that one of those things I fool myself into believing?

That reminds me of one of my favorite bits from "Strange Brew":

BOB: Ok, eh! Did you see her looking at me?
DOUG: Yeah, because she thought you were some kind of freak, now come on!
BOB: Take off, she likes me, eh?

On-line dating is a bust so far. Huh, there's a pre-op transsexual on there now. She describes herself as a "normal girl, looking for a normal man". Um, no comment.

I discovered an interesting site via an advertisement link on Suburban Bliss*. It's a blog called "CityFlirting: The Flirt Blog ". Pretty useful stuff there for single people. There was an article in particular about the importance of a good wingman. I've realized for a while that it's difficult to meet people in bars without a wingman, sometimes. For that matter, it's difficult to meet people in bars if none of your friends go out to bars. I don't want to be that creepy loner guy hanging out at the bar by himself, you know? So it's a catch-22: you have to know single people to meet single people.

The hunt continues.

*Don't go to suburbanbliss.net. Someone else bought the domain and Melissa no longer writes there.

My single 39 year-old very eligible friend Paul, who lives in Milwaukee, blames it all on demographics.

He may have a point. If you having difficulty just FINDING a large amount of eligible single women, location may be your problem.

For instance, I can hang out on the sleepy Upper West Side, and have absolutely nothing happen. But I go to hipsterville Williamsburg Brooklyn, I get lots of eyes checking me out, a circle of constant attention around me, and two dates - all within an hour.

So you also have to be AROUND single people to meet them.

Tell me if you find any good places to meet single women. A single friend of mine always goes to The Rockford. It does not seem to be chocked full of girls.

Try Wal-Mart.
